The Veteran.

The one who has been there too.
The Veteran Icon

The Veteran has been through their own struggles, and can draw on that experience to support us, no matter how different that struggle was to ours.

When we're struggling, our brains can convince us that no one else really understands, or that we're the only one who feels this way. The Veteran can be proof that isn't true, just by letting us know they've been there too.

THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE

We feel genuinely understood, less alone and safe to talk honestly.

You give us hope that things can get better.

Sharing the things you've learned gives us tools to manage and cope.

WHY YOUR KIND.MATTERS

You're proof we're not alone.

When we're struggling, it's easy to feel like we're the only one, or that we're somehow the problem. Having someone tell us they've struggled too, even if their experience was completely different to ours, can be enough to prove that belief wrong.

The Veteran can be a lifeline by being someone we can talk to who genuinely gets what it's like to struggle, someone we can be honest with about how we're really feeling.

THE VETERAN, IN ACTION

What this looks like in real life.

Four tips to help you put your Kind. into practice.

It doesn't have to be a big moment, just a casual conversation.

Share any ideas or tips from your experience of what helped, and what didn't.

If talking in person feels like too much, just send a message.

You don't have to share more than you're comfortable with.
